Join us on Thursday afternoon, September 5th, for the “IFAD-ILO Ministers and the Private Sector Engagement Panel with Hackathon Submissions”.

This dynamic session, where innovation meets leadership, will spotlight the innovative ideas generated by youth during the hackathon. This session will provide a platform for youth to present their solutions to ministers, private sector leaders, and other stakeholders. The aim is to foster partnerships and support mechanisms that can turn these innovative ideas into actionable projects for sustainable development.

This session is part of the bigger Africa Food Systems Forum (AFSF), which is a key platform for transforming Africa’s food systems. AFSF 2024 features the Youth Dome, a space dedicated to elevating young people’s voices and contributions in agriculture and food systems.

Youth engagement is vital for sustainable development in Africa’s food systems. Young agripreneurs bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and energy. Their involvement is crucial in tackling food security, climate change, and economic growth. The Youth Dome empowers young leaders and fosters a network of changemakers committed to building resilient and sustainable food systems.

The theme for AFSF 2024, “Innovate, Accelerate and Scale: Delivering Food Systems Transformation in a Digital and Climate Era,” emphasizes innovation, rapid progress, and scalable solutions. The Youth Dome sessions align with this theme, focusing on empowering youth, fostering innovation, and driving policy change. Sessions will cover support for young agripreneurs, contributions of Indigenous youth, youth perspectives on food systems and climate policy, and celebrating inclusivity and diversity.

AFSF 2024 aims to inspire and equip young people to drive change, serving as a platform for action where youth voices lead to tangible impacts. Together, we can cultivate a sustainable and resilient future for Africa’s food systems, with youth at the forefront.
